يجمع "ربيع صامت في فلسطين" مجموعة من الأفلام التي تتتبّع أشكال العنف الصامتة الواقعة على الأرض والأجساد والذاكرة في ظل الاستعمار والاحتلال. يستخدم المخرج كمال الجعفري في فيلمه "UNDR" لقطات جوّية لتضاريس وتكوينات أثرية تكشف عن عنف الاحتلال وآثاره الغائرة في الأرض. أما فيلم "ومع ذلك، يبقى" And Still It Remains، من إخراج أروى أبو راوى وتراب شاه، فيأخذنا إلى قرية مرتوتك في الجزائر، حيث تكشف أشباح التجارب النووية الفرنسية وسمومها الاستعمارية عن استمرار تأثير العنف الاستعماري في تشكيل البيئة والجسد حتى بعد انتهائه الظاهري. في عمل جمانة إميل عبود "أشعر بكل شيء" Feel Everything، تنطلق الفنانة من الحكاية الشعبية الفلسطينية "نص نصيص" لتستحضر روح طفل خفي منفي عن موطنه، مستلهمةً أساطير الماء التي تربط الجسد بالمكان عبر حكايات الوصاية والفقد والعودة. أما فيلم "الزهور تقف بصمت تشهد" The Flowers Stand Silently, Witnessing لـ ثيو باناغوبولوس، فيعيد إحياء لقطات أرشيفية نادرة لزهور فلسطينية برّية صوّرت إبّان الانتداب البريطاني، كاشفًا عن ارتبط تصوير الطبيعة بتاريخ المحو والسيطرة،. ويقدّم خوان مانويل دي لا بارا في عمله ">"3 (مقتطف) لقطات لقلب يرسم على الأرض، كإيماءة شاعرية تجمع بين الأثر والعاطفة.

تجتمع هذه الأفلام لتقدم المشهد الطبيعي بوصفه أرشيفًا لتواريخ متداخلة؛ إذ تكشف عملية تسييس الطبيعة وتسليحها عن وجهٍ معاكس لها، يجعل من الأرض مساحةً للمقاومة والاستمرارية. وهنا يتحول الصمت إلى شهادة حية تمتد أصداؤها عبر أراض ٍ ما زالت ترزح تحت إرث الاستعمار، حيث تستمر أنماط العنف البيئي والمعرفي في التشكل والانكشاف.

Fundraiser for Revive Gaza’s Farmland

Silent Spring in Palestine brings together films that trace the quiet violences enacted upon land, bodies and memory under conditions of colonial occupation. From Kamal Aljafari’s UNDR, which uses aerial footage of terrain, ancient formations and archaeological sites to reveal the violence of occupation, to the spectral persistence of And Still It Remains, set in the Algerian village of Mertoutek, where the afterlife of French nuclear tests and colonial toxicity exposes how colonial structures of violence continue to shape ecology and the body. In Jumana Emil Abboud’s I Feel Everything, the Palestinian folktale Half-a-Halfling (Nos Nsais) becomes a point of departure, drawing on water folklore that binds body and landscape through stories of guardianship, loss and return. The Flowers Stand Silently, Witnessing by Theo Panagopoulos reworks rare archival footage of Palestinian wildflowers filmed under British occupation, revealing how images of nature are bound to histories of erasure and control, while Juan Manuel de La Parra’s <3 (Excerpt) shows a heart-shaped form inscribed upon the land, a playful gesture amid the scars of occupation.

Together, these films present the landscape as an archive of entangled histories. Here, the weaponisation of nature reveals its inverse: a terrain of resilience where silence itself becomes a form of testimony, one that echoes across other colonised and still-colonial territories where the same structures of environmental and epistemic violence continue to unfold.

This program is developed as part of the ongoing research and artistic program series by Golo Besmlah on the ecologies of the Fertile Crescent. All proceeds go to the ‘Revive Gaza’s Farmland’ a Project by @golobesmlah and @apnorg

Written during the ongoing genocide in Gaza, the reading moves through soil, seeds, birds and water to trace the ecological dimensions of war and the violence of zionist settler colonial power on food, land and life.

Assemble is a London-based organisation who design and make buildings, artworks, gardens, playgrounds, furniture, exhibitions and events. We develop business plans, project strategies and create organisations. We design, construct and manage workspaces. We curate, teach, write books, publish research and lecture publicly. Each of these activities form an interconnected body of work.

Assemble uses design as a tool to respond to the environmental, social and economic challenges we face today. We believe that built examples along with critical reflection are the most effective means to have a positive impact.

This programme of short films by Basma Alsharif brings together key works from across her practice. We Began by Measuring Distance (2009) uses still frames, text, and sound to follow an anonymous group whose simple acts of measurement gradually expose the political dimensions of how history is communicated. In The Story of Milk and Honey (2011), an attempt to write a love story unravels into a reflection on how we collect and interpret information—facts, images, and narratives—and how the self is shaped through them. Alsharif’s recent film Morgenkreis | Morning Circle (2025) follows a father and son through early-morning rituals, tracing the intimate and political weight of exile, assimilation, and belonging. The programme concludes with Home Movies Gaza (2013), which offers a glimpse of everyday life in the Gaza Strip, revealing a domestic perspective inseparable from the region’s political realities.

Palestinian artist/filmmaker Basma al-Sharif was raised between France, the US, and the Gaza Strip and developed her practice nomadically. She works between cinema and installation to explore the legacy of colonialism through satirical, immersive, and lyrical works.

Join us for All the Wild Places, a 3 day event celebrating the end of the Spring Sessions residency and learning program at the Wonder Cabinet. The open studios showcase individual and collective works of participating artists, and live programming will include performances, film screenings, talks, guided tours and more. Bar Tamam will serve snacks and drinks every night from 6 pm onwards.

About the band:
alkalsaat - Shaden, Naser, and Michele - is a trio combining improvisational jazz with contemporary dance music and Eastern Arabic touch. Their music is like an artistic journey through diverse worlds of rhythms and melodies.

Joseph Schiano di Lombo is a multidisciplinary artist based in Paris. His practice, situated at the intersection of visual art, music, and writing, underpins a range of collaborations in the fields of contemporary art, luxury, and cinema.

ضمن الندوة الدولية حول فرانتس فانون وفلسطين، يستضيف مجلس العجب عرض فيلم فرانتس فانون (٢٠١٢) للمخرج عبد النور زهزه. يتتبع الفيلم حياة فانون ومسيرته الفكرية والنضالية، بوصفه طبيبًا نفسيًا ومُنظّرًا مناهضًا للاستعمار ومنخرطًا في حركات التحرر، وما زالت أفكاره تتردد في سياقات النضال من أجل الحرية في أنحاء العالم، بما في ذلك فلسطين.

يسبق العرض تقديم موجز لأعمال فانون يلقيه رضا مريدة، الباحث في الفكر السياسي ونظريات فك الاستعمار، ليضع أفكار فانون في سياق اللحظة الفلسطينية الراهنة.

As part of the international symposium on Frantz Fanon and Palestine, The Wonder Cabinet will host a screening of Frantz Fanon (2012) by filmmaker Abdennour Zahzah. The film traces the life, thought, and revolutionary legacy of Frantz Fanon – psychiatrist, anti-colonial theorist, and militant – whose work continues to resonate across global struggles for liberation, including Palestine.

The screening will be preceded by a short introduction to Fanon’s work by Reda Merida, a scholar of political thought and decolonial theory, situating Fanon’s ideas in relation to Palestine today.

The film will be shown in French, with Arabic subtitles.

Abdennour Zahzah is an Algerian filmmaker, screenwriter, and professor of cinema whose work investigates memory, colonial history, and the legacy of revolutionary movements. He has directed numerous documentaries and essay films, and his research on Fanon spans more than a decade, including the book Frantz Fanon: Identité et révolution. Zahzah’s work has been screened internationally and is referenced in both academic and cinematic discussions on decolonial theory, North African cinema, and political memory.

رمزي قطان هو عازف متعدد الآلات ومُعالج بالصوت ومستشار شامل مقيم في الأردن، يمزج عمله بين الموسيقى وممارسات العلاج القديمة والتقاليد الثقافية. يعتمد عمله على تقاليد وعلاجات الصوت العالمية، ويستكشف الترددات والصوت والآلات لتقديم تجارب علاجية غامرة وعروض إبداعية. بالإضافة إلى أداء وإنتاج الموسيقى، يقدم رمزي جلسات علاج بالصوت وورش عمل للتأمل والصوت وتدريب شامل، حيث يجمع بين التعبير الفني والرفاهية الشخصية في نهج فريد وتكاملي.

Ramsey Kattan is a Jordan-based multi-instrumentalist, sound healer, and holistic counselor whose work blends music, ancient healing practices, and cultural traditions. His practice draws on global sound traditions and therapies, exploring frequencies, voice, and instruments to offer immersive healing experiences and creative performances. In addition to performing and producing music, Ramsey facilitates sound-healing sessions, meditation and voice workshops, and holistic coaching, bringing together artistic expression and personal wellbeing in a unique and integrative approach.

تعود قائدة الأوركسترا لامار إلياس، التي تم اختيارها مؤخرًا للمشاركة في مسابقة لا مايسترا المرموقة في باريس، إلى بيت لحم لتشارك خبرتها مع المتدربين الفلسطينيين الشباب، من المبتدئين إلى قادة الأوركسترا المتمرسين. وستكون جوقة أمواج هي الآلة التي ستجسد هذه الدورة التدريبية حول التواصل من خلال الموسيقى. الدورة مفتوحة للجمهور.

Conductor Lamar Elias, recently selected for the prestigious La Maestra competition in Paris, returns to Bethlehem to share her know-how with young Palestinian trainees, from beginners to seasoned conductors. The Amwaj choir will be the instrument allowing to bring to life this class about communication through music. Open to the public.

Rami Nakhleh is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and producer from the Golan Heights, His artistic vision explores genre-fluid compositions and improvisations that merge contemporary grooves, jazz, and cinematic soundscapes with influences from Arabic classical music.

As a co-founder of the acclaimed band TootArd, Rami has contributed to a distinctive sound that blends global pop hooks and quarter-tone melodies, drawing on the musical traditions of SWANA (South-West Asia, North Africa) and beyond. TootArd's discography includes 'Nuri Andaburi' (2011), 'Laissez Passer' (2017), 'Migrant Birds' (2020), and 'Unmute' (2024).

يعمل ضرار كلش في مساحات موسيقيّة وصوتيّة مختلفة وواسعة، وتتراوح ممارساته ما بين الأداء الحيّ والارتجال والتّأليف الموسيقي، ويعزف على عدّة آلات مختلفة إضافة إلى برمجة الموسيقى الإلكترونيّة. أنتج عدّة ألبومات موسيقية إضافة إلى تقديم العروض الموسيقيّة الحيّة محليًّا وعالميًّا. أنتج عدة أعمال تركيبية ومشاريع متعددة الوسائط.

Dirar Kalash (b. 1982) is a musician and sound artist whose work spans a wide range of musical and sonic practices within a variety of instrumental, compositional and improvisational contexts. Kalash also extends his practice into inter-disciplinary theoretical research. He has produced several solo and collaborative musical albums and is active as touring musician, in addition to that he also created several sound installations, live audio-visual performances, and photography projects.
