فرح النابلسي هي مخرجة فلسطينية-بريطانية مرشّحة لجائزة الأوسكار® وحائزة على جائزة البافتا®. منذ عام ٢٠١٦ تعمل على كتابة وإنتاج أفلام روائية مستوحاة من قضايا اجتماعية راهنة. حاز فيلمها القصير الأول Today They Took My Son على دعم المخرج البريطاني كين لوتش، وعُرض في الأمم المتحدة. أما فيلمها The Present، الذي شكّل أول تجربة إخراجية لها وشاركت في كتابته وإنتاجه، فقد عُرض لأول مرة في مهرجان كليرمون-فيرّان الدولي للأفلام القصيرة عام ٢٠٢٠ وفاز بجائزة الجمهور لأفضل فيلم، ثم حصد أكثر من ٦٠ جائزة من لجان التحكيم والجمهور في مهرجانات دولية، إلى جانب جائزة البافتا®، وترشيح لجائزة الأوسكار®. كما تم توزيعه عالميًا عبر منصات منها Canal+ وNetflix

أما فيلمها الروائي الطويل الأول The Teacher، فقد عُرض عالميًا لأول مرة في مهرجان تورونتو الدولي للأفلام عام ٢٠٢٣ ثم عُرض إقليميًا في مهرجان البحر الأحمر السينمائي الدولي في جدة، حيث حاز على جائزة أفضل ممثل والجائزة الكبرى للجنة التحكيم (برئاسة المخرج باز لورمان). يشارك في بطولة الفيلم الممثل الفلسطيني صالح بكري والممثلة البريطانية إيموجين بوتس، وقد حصد أكثر من ١٨ جائزة في مهرجانات دولية، كما أُدرج ضمن القائمة الطويلة لجوائز البافتا® لأفضل عمل أول (٢٠٢٤)، وضمن القائمة الطويلة لجوائز BIFA في ثلاث فئات (٢٠٢٣).

A Palestinian school teacher struggles to reconcile his risky commitment to political resistance with his emotional support for one of his students and the chance of a new relationship with a volunteer worker.

Farah is an Academy Award®-Nominated and BAFTA®-Winning Palestinian-British filmmaker. Since 2016, she has been writing and producing fiction narrative films inspired by socially relevant themes. Her first short film, Today They Took My Son, was endorsed by British director Ken Loach and screened at the United Nations. The Present, her directorial debut, which she also co-wrote and produced, premiered at Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival in 2020 and won the coveted Audience Award for Best Film. It went on to win over 60 International Film Festival Jury and Audience Awards, a BAFTA® award, and it received an Oscar® nomination. The Present was licensed internationally including to Canal+ and Netflix Worldwide.

The Teacher, Farah's directorial feature-length debut, had its World Premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival. It had its MENA Premiere at the Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, where it took home the Best Actor award and the main Jury Prize (the jury was headed by director Baz Lurhmann). The film stars renowned Palestinian actor Saleh Bakri and British actress Imogen Poots and has won over 18 International Film Festival Awards. The Teacher was also BAFTA®-Longlisted for Outstanding Debut (2024) and BIFA-Longlisted in 3 categories (2023).

أندريس وفرانسيسكا خميس جياكومان أشقاء وُلدوا في أحضان الشتات الفلسطيني في تشيلي. وهم من الجيل الثالث لعائلة تعود جذورها إلى بيت جالا من جهة الأب، وإلى بيت لحم من جهة الأم. يسعى عملهما إلى استكشاف تفاصيل وخصوصيات الشتات الفلسطيني في تشيلي وتصويرها. بايسانوس هو فيلمهما الأول الذي يخرجانه معاً.

Through a portrayal of the fans of Deportivo Palestino, a dialogue unfolds between Chile and Palestine on identity and return, connecting both territories within a space of celebration, where dreaming of victory creates a possible future.

Andrés and Francisca Khamis Giacoman are siblings born into the Palestinian diaspora in Chile. They are third-generation descendants of a family originally from Beit Jala (on their father’s side) and Bethlehem (on their mother’s side). Their work seeks to explore and portray the nuances of the Palestinian diaspora in Chile. Baisanos is their first film working together as directors.

هيلفيتيكا فيلم وثائقي طويل يتناول الطباعة والتصميم الجرافيكي والثقافة البصرية العالمية. يرصد الفيلم انتشار خط واحد من الخطوط ضمن حوار أشمل حول تأثير الطباعة على حياتنا.

يأخذنا الفيلم في استكشاف سينمائي للفضاءات الحضرية في المدن الكبرى والخطوط التي تسكنها، وفي نقاشات متدفقة مع مصممين بارزين حول أعمالهم ومساراتهم الإبداعية والخيارات الجمالية الكامنة وراء استخدامهم للطباعة. يجمع هيلفيتيكا بين عوالم التصميم والإعلان وعلم النفس والتواصل، ويدعونا إلى إعادة النظر في آلاف الكلمات التي تقع أعيننا عليها كل يوم.

Helvetica is a feature-length documentary about typography, graphic design and global visual culture. It looks at the proliferation of one typeface as part of a larger conversation about the way type affects our lives.

It is a cinematic exploration of urban spaces in major cities and the type that inhabits them, and a fluid discussion with renowned designers about their work, the creative process, and the choices and aesthetics behind their use of type. Helvetica encompasses the worlds of design, advertising, psychology, and communication, and invites us to take a second look at the thousands of words we see every day.

Gary Hustwit is a filmmaker and visual artist based in New York, best known for his acclaimed Design Trilogy — Helvetica (2007), the world's first feature-length documentary about graphic design and typography, Objectified (2009), which examines our complex relationship with manufactured objects, and Urbanized (2011), a documentary on urban planning and architecture — alongside Rams (2018), a portrait of legendary product designer Dieter Rams. Known for turning his lens on the things we take for granted and changing the way people think about them, Hustwit has earned a cult following among the global design community. His films have premiered at Sundance, SXSW, and the Toronto International Film Festival, and he co-founded Anamorph, a media studio and software company.

يدعوكم مجلس العجب إلى حفل افتتاح معرض هسهسة الرثاء: مدونات عن الحزن في ١٩ حزيران ٢٠٢٦ الساعة ٦ مساءً.

يجمع هذا المعرض الخطابي، الذي تتولى تداوله مؤسسة عبد المحسن القطان وأشرف على تأليفه الأصلي أمين السادن، ممارسي الكتابة الفنية من مختلف أنحاء العالم العربي والمهجر، ليمنحوا أبياتاً مختارة من الشعر الحديث والمعاصر، تتناول موضوع الحزن، شكلاً بصرياً فنياً مميزاً. أعمالهم تُمثِّل أنشودة مديح للعربية وبلاغتها وإمكاناتها التعبيرية، لفظيّاً وجماليّاً، في الوقت ذاته الذي تشهد فيه اللغة انحساراً تدريجيّاً مؤسفاً.

يمتد المعرض حتى ١٢ تموز، ويرافقه برنامج يتضمن عروضاً سينمائية وبرامج صوتية وحوارات تتناول الحزن والرثاء والموضوعات التي يستحضرها المعرض.

The Wonder Cabinet invites you to the opening of the exhibition Elegiac Whispers: Lines on Grief, on June 19th, 2026 at 6 PM.

Circulated by A. M. Qattan Foundation and originally curated by Amin Alsaden, this discursive exhibition brings together lettering artists from across the Arab world and its diasporas who give visual form to verses of modern and contemporary poetry concerning grief. It is an ode to Arabic and its expressive capacity, both verbally and aesthetically, at a time when the language itself is experiencing a gradual, lamentable withdrawal.

The exhibition will remain open until July 12th with a program featuring film screenings, sound programs, and conversations around grief and other themes evoked by the exhibition.

Circulated by the A. M. Qattan Foundation, Ramallah. Originally curated by Amin Alsaden. This third round of the exhibition in Bethlehem was installed by Wonder Cabinet.

تسعى هذه المداخلة إلى التفكير في معنى إنشاء أرشيف رقمي للأعمال الغنائية الحزينة، والتي تمتد من طقوس الحداد الشيعية والمسيحية وصولاً إلى الإنتاجات الطربية العراقية والمصرية. تنطلق المداخلة من شهادة شخصية تتبع يوميات إنشاء مركز متخيّل بعنوان "المركز الدولي للنوح والأغاني الحزينة" بدأ كمزحة هدفها إيجاد حل موسيقي لمأساة شخصية، قبل أن يتبيّن سريعًا أن هذه الفكرة المتخيلة يمكن أن تتحول إلى أداة فعلية للتفاعل مع إنتاج موسيقي أوسع، وأن تؤدي وظيفة حقيقية لآلاف الأشخاص الذين ينتمون إلى مجتمع يعيش تجارب متكررة من الفقد والخسارة.

سيتم عرض مجموعة مختارة من ترانيم الرثاء وأغاني الحزن، التي اختارها حسن الساحلي، داخل المساحة.

حسن الساحلي كاتب ومصور مقيم في بيروت، يكتب عن المشهد الثقافي والفني في المنطقة العربية منذ عام 2015. نشر مقالات وتحقيقات في عدد من المنصات اللبنانية والعربية، من بينها منصة ميغافون، ومجلة الفراتس، وخط ٣٠، وجريدة المدن. حالياً يكتب بشكل دوري مع مجلة "كانفاس بالعربية" التي تركز على المعارض والفعاليات الثقافية والمتحفية في المنطقة العربية مع التركيز على الخليج العربي. عام 2021، أصدر كتابه الأول "العود إلى بني أمي" بالتعاون مع مؤسسة "أمم للتوثيق والبحث" الذي يتناول تجربة السجن في لبنان أما مشارعيه الفوتوغرافية التي عرضت ضمن غاليرهات ومنصات رقمية، فتعالج العلاقة مع المكان والفضاء الحضري. حقق مؤخراً حلمه في التحول إلى "مدير مركز" بعد فوزه في انتخابات أعضاء "المركز الدولي للنوح والأغاني الحزينة" بنسبة تجاوزت ٩٩%.

Hassan el Sahili reflects on the meaning of building a digital archive of sorrowful musical works, spanning Shia and Christian mourning rituals through to Iraqi and Egyptian tarab productions. It departs from a personal testimony tracing the diary of an imaginary institution called the "International Center for Lamentation and Songs of Grief" (@el.markaz on Instagram). What started as a joke in search of a musical solution to a personal tragedy, it quickly became clear that this imagined idea could become an actual tool for engaging with a broader musical output, and serve a real function for the thousands of people who belong to a community living through repeated experiences of loss.

A selection of lamentation and songs of grief by Hassan El Sahili will be playing in the space.

Hassan Al-Sahili is a writer and photographer based in Beirut, covering the cultural and artistic scene across the Arab world since 2015. He has published articles and features across several Lebanese and Arab platforms, including Megaphone, Al-Furat magazine, Khat 30, and Al-Mudun newspaper. He currently writes regularly for Canvas Arabia, which focuses on exhibitions and cultural and museum events across the Arab world with an emphasis on the Gulf. In 2021, he published his first book Al-Awd ila Bani Ummi in collaboration with Omam for Documentation and Research, examining the experience of imprisonment in Lebanon. His photographic projects, exhibited in galleries and on digital platforms, explore the relationship with place and urban space. He recently fulfilled his dream of becoming a "center director" after winning the elections of the International Center for Lamentation and Songs of Grief members with over 99% of the vote.

Vocalist Dwna Ayyad will guide us through the exhibition through improvised vocalizations of the Arabic poems whose verses are presented and illustrated by the artists, inviting the audience to experience and engage with the poetry through collective listening.
